I would like to share with you a relaxation recorded by Annette Loudon to help purify the chakras - chakra shuddhi. Annette is one of the principal teachers on the Graduate Certificate in Yoga Therapy course, in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and is a leading expert in Yoga and Cancer.

Chakra Shuddhi relaxation is aimed at balancing and purifying the chakras. Balancing and purifying the chakras results in a smoother flow of the life force, prana, through the chakras.

Chakras are the subtle energy centres present in the psychic body. The practice of Chakra Shuddhi cleanses the chakra system through guided awareness and psychic mantras. This practice can bring about a deep transformation and lift us to higher levels of consciousness.

And, of course, there also are physical and psychological benefits from doing this practice too, such as,
• increased concentration,
• increased awareness,
• calming effects on the nervous system,
• increased energy levels,
